About Us

We're Nick and Kathy, loving parents to out sweet twins--one of whom has special needs. Like many families, we struggled to find toys our daughter could truly use, as most required more motor and fine-motor control than she had. Playtime, something meant to be joyful, often felt limiting instead. 

As a Speech-Language Pathologist, Kathy searched for ways to make play more accessible and inclusive, drawing on her background in assistive technology, switch adaptation and communication. When she shared her vision, Nick jumped at the chance to help--driven by his desire to see his daughter succeed, play alongside her twin brother and be fully included in the same moments of joy. 

That's how True Play was born. Our mission is simple: to turn everyday toys into opportunities for connection, independence, and fun. We believe all play should be true play--play that is inclusive, meaningful, and for everyone.
